Happy to share any prior art. There are actually GIS technologies that pre-date GRASS (MOSS, CGIS, work by Raytheon) that are excellent sources of prior art. The issue is finding the actual documentation! I have managed to keep user manuals etc for many early (pre 1980) GIS technologies.
If anyone needs references, just let me know!
