"nobody wanted a board meeting"... Really? I for one wanted one, and so 
did several other board members as reflected in the board list archives 
from last September. So this statement is unfair to all the board 
members from last year who actually did want one.

Saying that we did a poor job of planning it and that some of us had a 
complicated schedule would be a more fair statement, and in the end the 
face to face that did happen at the last minute was extremely productive 
and valuable in my opinion.

I thank your initiative of booking a room in advance for this year and 
would strongly encourage the board members who are going to be present 
and available to hold a face to face meeting, even if it's just to do a 
round of introductions and discuss general topics as that would be 
extremely valuable to break the ice and help with the integration of new 
board members.
