Thank you Jeff . It is really great to hear that you will be there at FOSS4G-Europe 2015 to give the awards with Georg (i understand Chen Jun might be also there). It is excellent launch opportunity for this Student Award initiative.

Best wishes,

Suchith

Thanks Suchith. I have added your request to the agenda of our next
meeting, for Thursday. It is my opinion that we must foster growth and
innovation in our community by supporting our students, the future
leaders of the geo community.

By the way, I will also be at FOSS4G-Europe 2015 and can present these
awards with Georg, my pleasure.

Georg Gartner (ICA President) will be there at FOSS4G-Europe 2015 at Como to deliver keynote and to present the award.

So all ideas/suggestions welcome.

This will be administered by the OSGeo Treasurer and this Award Committee with Charlie Schweik as chair will be responsible for approving which conference/events/competitions to fund the awards. Also we will invite other interested organisations who wish to support this Award initiative to directly send their funding to OSGeo and the OSGeo treasurer will administer this for us. It is important that a system and structure is setup in place so that it builds upon for the future.
