Having SAC provide email/shared drive services is an additional burden. All things being equal, I do prefer, like Gerald, to have OSGeo stuff on OSGeo servers. But Google can provide mail services so much simpler, and probably more cost effective. So I think we should explore Google drive/email for OSGeo and then make an informed decision.
