Dear Jody
In case of UN Capacity Building we were thinking about young people, not necessarily limited to students. They can be also young researchers and post PhD in such a way that they have experience in teaching. In preparing training material having some experience is definitely a good point.
Best regards.
Maria

Oggetto: [Board] draft sponsorship oppertunities 2018
As referenced in our video chat meeting it is time to do a sponsorship opportunities call out for 2018 (and include the UN "capacity building" exercises).

I would like to bounce the above draft off the board list before taking it to projects and committees for additions.
For Discussion:
While we have gotten specific donations for OpenLayers I think more can be done to enable sponsors to directly fund projects. It may be a good idea to ask projects to place a PayPal donate button on their own website, in addition to including them in the above call for sponsorship.
We had an open trac<https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/ticket/1882> ticket requesting gvSig to be included in the 2017 call for sponsorship which was not noticed. The above draft lists gvSig Association and QGIS.org under "projects" under the assumption this is a good idea for 2018.
In a similar fashion is it worth listing local chapters?
Finally we had Jeroen's request for a single donate button. We could do that and make contributions to events and projects on behalf of foundation sponsors; we would have to do something consistent like a "supporting" sponsorship for events that does not include an exhibit booth.
