[Board] Capítulo Local - BRASIL - formalização e reconhecimento pelo conselho OSGeo / Local Chapter - BRAZIL - formalization and recognition by the OSGeo board

Dear all,

Considering the necessary steps to officially have the local chapter of
Brazil endorsed by the OSGeo council, I am sending the following
information with the purpose of obtaining the approval of this committee
and the authorization to create the page in the section:
https://www.osgeo.org/local-chapters/

Referring to the guidelines at
https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Local_Chapter_Guidelines:

1- We are self-organized and have had a mailing list since 2009 -
brasil at lists.osgeo.org. We also have a Telegram channel:
https://t.me/+nIuYy6xvoHwxMmFh and our wiki is available at this link:
https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Brasil

2- Attached is the text containing the mission and justification.

3- Currently, we are in the process of registering as a non-profit
association in order to better manage the event. Tatiana Pará is leading
this movement, and we ensure member rotation to enhance our group
management. We have around 30 active members assisting with administrative
tasks and several hundred users. The list of associates can be found here:

4- This email serves as an official expression of interest to form a
chapter to the OSGeo council.

*5- Therefore, on behalf of the OSGeo Brasil group members, I kindly
request the consideration of an approval motion to form the chapter and
appoint the liaison officer.*

oficialmente chancelado pelo conselho OSGeo, envio as seguintes informações
com o intuito de ter a aprovação deste comitê e autorização para criação da

2- Encontra-se em anexo o texto com a missão a justificativa

3- Atualmente estamos organizando uma oficialização em cartório como
associação sem fins lucrativos para que possamos melhor gerenciar o Evento
e temos a Tatiana Pará como chair desse movimento, tendo em nossa garantia
a rotatividade de membros para que melhor possamos gerenciar o grupo. Temos
aproximadamente 30 membros ativos que apoiam nas tarefas burocráticas e

4- Este é, portanto, um e-mail de manifestação oficial de interesse para
formar um capítulo ao conselho da OSGeo.

5- *Por isso, em nome dos integrantes do grupo OSGeo Brasil, eu
solicito considerar a aprovação de uma moção formando o capítulo e
designando o oficial de ligação.*
