[Board] Concerning LLM slope happening on PostGIS

Dear Even,

Thank you for taking time to contact us on the topic of using AI in OSGeo projects. This topic has our full attention and we want you to know we take your concerns very serious.

As a board, and as a foundation, we will not take a position in wether or not a project adopts or bans AI generated contributions to a project. That is for the PSC and community to decide. 

We plan to run a Bird of a Feather session at both FOSS4G Europe and FOSS4G 2026 Hiroshima to have a direct conversation on the topic.

We do feel strongly that (Agentic) AI should not be considered as subject to the Code of Conduct of OSGeo or any of its projects. We are a community of human beings that use computer systems, but always under human responsibility and supervision.

We do also wish to offer a listening ear and organise meetings to jointly work towards sustained and positive collaboration within OSGeo project communities if those involved in the debate feel that is something to pursue.
