From firmanhadi at me.com Thu Sep 3 04:41:04 2026 From: firmanhadi at me.com (Firman Hadi) Date: Thu, 3 Sep 2026 20:41:04 +0900 Subject: [Board] Reviving the Indonesian Local Chapter Message-ID: Dear all, I am Firman Hadi. I am here in Hiroshima, attending FOSS4G 2026. On behalf of the Indonesian OSGEO community, I want to convey to the board our desire to revive our Indonesian Local Chapter. It was established in 2007, when Arnulf Christl visited Indonesia and conducted an FOSS4G event, especially on using Mapbender. He helped us create the page in the OSGeo Wiki https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Indonesia. Since the passing of our former OSGEO Indonesia President 9 years ago, our local chapter went on hiatus. We had a joint meeting with OSM Indonesia in 2019 but then went to 'sleep' again. What we have now is only a website: https://osgeo.id, with limited joint activities in Indonesia. I am writing to request further guidance from the OSGEO Board. As Jeroen Ticheler mentioned on the conference's opening day, we are one step closer to making (reviving) the Indonesian Local Chapter. Thank you. Best regards, Firman Hadi -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... If you could please send as an 'About Me' paragraph to include in the letter, Jeroen will sign it today. The quicker you send the paragraph, the better, he is in Hiroshima and it is 19:18 there.
