Hi All,<div><br></div><div>I'm slightly perturbed by the current flurry of discussion about allocating funds to OSGeo Local Chapters. When I asked the question on this list on behalf of the UK chapter a month ago, I was met with almost complete silence, but suddenly it's OK? While I think the decision to allocate funds could be made by the marketing committee, we as a board got half way through a discussion about how marketing could be kick-started when we were in Seattle and there has been no progress since.</div>
<div><br></div><div>I really think there needs to be some guidelines in place regarding how these sort of funds should be allocated or there will be resentment from those that are not given funds. I for one am already deeply uneasy as I have lost a valuable sponsor of the UK chapter, because the organisation concerned doesn't see why they should fund the global foundation and the local chapter, yet the local chapter gets nothing (so far) from the global foundation.</div>
