Dear Angelos, and board
I'm contacting you since I'm submitting a proposal for extending
the latest version of istSOS wich include SensorThingsAPI with
reproducibility features.

Would it be possible to have a letter of support from OSGeo?
Unfortunately the deadline is very on the 14/05 at 12:00 which is
very very close (my fault)... but worth to give a try.
Maybe a quick online vote would make it possible :-)

Here below the short abstract and a template for letter of
support.

Best,

ABSTRACT
ReDaS – Reproducible Data from Sensor Web Services addresses
current limitations of geospatial web services in supporting
scientific reproducibility and full compliance with FAIR
principles. Building on the OGC SensorThings API (STA), the
project proposes to extend existing services by introducing a
time-travel feature that enables access to historical versions of
sensor data. This will allow researchers to cite and retrieve the
exact datasets used in a study, even long after data collection.
ReDaS also explores fine-grained access control mechanisms to
strengthen data sovereignty and promote responsible data sharing.
The proposed solutions will be developed and validated through
collaboration with three environmental research infrastructures
(eLTER, TERENO, and a UNESCO ecohydrology site). With an open and
participatory approach, the project aims to support the broader
scientific community in building more transparent, sustainable,
and reproducible data services.

To whom it may concern,

We would like to express our support for the project proposal
titled: "ReDaS: Reproducible Data from Sensor Web Services.
Enabling trusted integration of environmental sensor data in
research infrastructures through open, reproducible web services".

We consider the project relevant to the development of open,
FAIR-aligned, and reproducible digital services for environmental
research using Open Source Software and Open Standard. Its focus
on enhancing interoperability through the implementation of a
SensorThings API extension for traveltime for permanent URL access
addresses concrete needs in the management and use of
environmental monitoring data and science reproducibility.

We welcome initiatives such as ReDaS that aim to strengthen the
connection between research, technological innovation, and
long-term service adoption within research infrastructures.

Sincerely,
XXXXXXXX
