[OSGeo-Boston] GIS Developer Position in Rhode Island

ASA is currently seeking a GIS Developer with strong computer and communication skills to support projects related to coastal modeling and ocean observing in their South Kingstown, Rhode Island office.

Successful candidates will work with a growing team on cutting edge projects to integrate GIS, environmental data, and numerical models, on multiple platforms.

Ideal candidates will have an undergraduate or graduate degree program related to GIS, or computer science/engineering.

Experience with the some or all of the following areas are required


*         C#, Java, Python, VB

*         Adobe Flex

*         GUI Design and Development

*         Familiarity with web mapping software and web services

*         GeoServer, MapServer, OpenLayers, PostGres and other Open Source mapping technologies

*         Experience converting and integrating data from various sources
The successful applicant must have strong writing and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work on highly interactive project teams.
