[California] Appointment of Board Representative and "Official" Formation of Chapter

At our meeting last Saturday I volunteered to serve as our Chapter's
representative to the OSGeo Board for the remainder of 2010. The
appointment of the board representative is the last action we need to
take before becoming an official chapter.

 

I wanted to throw my appointment as board rep out to the mailing list
for discussion before I sent the e-mail to the board regarding my
appointment and our request to be recognized as a chapter. I know we had
some people that were unable to attend the meeting, and I want to make
sure they have a voice. 

 

If get no strong objections to having me serve as the board
representative in the next day or two, I will send the e-mail to the
board asking them to recognize our chapter at the next board meeting.

 

Now that we are taking this step, I will send a separate e-mail with
some other items for discussion.
