I think this is a good chance to spread a California chapter.
I can can give a short speech for 15 min and flood forecast with open source as a pre-and-post process.
Is anyone willing to volunteer for the last 15 minutes or just the whole 30 minutes?
Thanks,
Nahm

Subject: [California] Looking for an interested speaker to talk about Open Source GIS
Hello,
My name is Mateo and I'm a GIS developer at the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). DWR is having a GIS Day event on November 13 for the California Natural Resources Agency here at headquarters in the Resources building in downtown Sacramento. I'm helping try to find someone who'd be interested in talking about Open Source GIS software. The talk would be about 30 minutes liong. The request is for something that isn't overly technical, but will get people excited about Open Source GIS. It might be a good way to get State GIS professionals interested in the Open Source Geospatial Foundation California Chapter.
Please contact me as soon as possible so our coordinator for GIS Day can start planning everything out.
Thank you for your time,
Mateo
