Hi Matt,
This looks like it might be in my wheelhouse.  I’m a coastal geographer and I study beach plants when I get the chance, so I’m just shore-side of the marine ecosystem.  I currently work at UC Davis DataLab where I collaborate with geospatial researcher.  I’ve been a part of the open source geospatial community for more than a decade and I’ve given talks and workshops at a bunch of FOSS4G meetings.  I also organize the weekly #gischat on Twitter and our local #maptimeDavis meetups.

The Leadership Team for the Monterey Bay Marine GIS User Group (link<https://sites.google.com/view/mb-marinegis/>) is looking for a keynote speaker for our annual meeting, likely May 1, 2020.

The topic will be on Open Source Software and Open Data in GIS.
