[RNFdev] How is everyone

New project members are good. Walter and I have bandwidth problems,
so help on a number of dimensions would be welcome.
I saw the message as well (I'm also on that mailing list). The
current match with PAGC isn't there. However, getting in contact with
Arnulf could be useful to find out if he constructed the polygons. If
he did, he will be further along the learning curve than we are, and
he may have some helpful hints about how to proceed with our efforts
to create FSA polygons. The other thing that this brings up is the
ability to use his data to create an augmented RNF that would work
with PAGC. The problem in Europe is that, unlike Canada and the US,
there are no government provided, publicly available RNFs. Jo Walsh's
post today on that list had news about the EU's INSPIRE initiative,
but I don't really have a sense of what the implications are of that
in terms of there being more public RNFs. My suspicion is that it is
still the case that the only public road data available in Europe is
what OSM is creating. The coverage of that data is very limited, and
I don't think it has much address range information in it at the
moment for the areas that are mapped. I think a lot of contributors
are solely focused on loading GPS tracks and turning them in to
"ways" (OSM-speak for road segments) without providing much in the
way of attribute information.
