[Workshops] PostGIS installation on workshop machines

yip I think the postgis-geoserver-openlayers stack is the only one with major postgis content, although I'm sure several other labs and workshops will use it to some extent.

We hoped Refractions and others would come to the party as it's core to rolling out FOSS GIS systems and SA is a market about to explode. If Paul were coming I'm sure he would have done one.

Subject: [Workshops] PostGIS installation on workshop machines

Hi all,

Looking over the lab/workshop list I don't see any postgis specific
content (surprising!). I am wondering if any others are planning on
installing postgis for their labs/workshops. Looking at the software
list it states that postgres/postgis will be available but not installed.

If others require postgis as we do I was wondering if we could simply
have it pre-installed on the machines and create a generic
username/password for use.
