Jeff,

I think announcing the RFP at the conference is pretty much the latest
we can wait.  It would have been better to be able to announce the next
venue at the conference.

I think it would be very helpful to have a definite Chair for the
conference project (post FOSS4G 2006) to lead preparation of an RFP,
and related activities.  Is there anyone willing to step forward for this?
I imagine it would be better if this was not someone too directly involved
in the FOSS4G conference as I imagine they are seriously overworked already.

I would add that this Chair position need not be long term, but at least
someone to get us through the RFP and selection steps for the 2007 conference.
