[OSGeo-Conf] [FOSS4G2007] Academic Conference Requirements

I have received a couple questions recently about the publication of  
proceedings.

I believe FOSS4G 2006 may have committed to publish proceedings,  
though I don't know if they have done so yet.  I am not sure if the  
04 and 05 events did any such thing.  Our publish-or-perish academic  
participants are of course anxious that such things happen.  Being on  
the outside of the ivory tower, I personally could hardly care less.

Is this important? Should this be something FOSS4GXX does, as a  
matter of course?
