[OSGeo-Conf] proposal for FOSS4G2010 en Barcelona

Dear Conference Committee,
with this e-mail I would like to propose Barcelona as organizing city for the FOSS4G2010.


The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) currently includes:

- Lorenzo Becchi (president). OSGeo-es Board Member [1].
- Jordi Guimet,  in charge of the development and management of the Catalan [2] SDI Center of Support.
- Irene Compte and Lluís Vicens. SIGTE, University of Girona. Organizers of many GIS events in Spain.
- Carol Puig. Lecture of Geomatics at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).

The professional conference organizing service we are using is Grupo Pacifico [4] with more than 25 year organizing events in Spain.

Budget proposals have been e-mailed directly to Jeff McKenna.

 
Proud to have the support of the National and Catalan Geographic institutes, between others, the LOC feels to have the necessary national and international experience to ensure a successful FOSS4G.
e think that Barcelona is a beautiful city and it grants highly developed conferencing and technological infrastructures.
