Jeff,
It sounds like the comments you have heard haven't been forwarded on to
the OSGeo-Live team. What I'd heard was:
1. Didn't like the original name of "Arramagong" - addressed, now
renamed to "OSGeo-Live"
2. Over emphasis of LISAsoft on the DVD - addressed, now LISAsoft is
only mentioned next to all contributors in our docs.
3. OSGeo sponsors should be listed - addressed, we now list all OSGeo
sponsors.

I think you are referring to OSGeo4Win (the windows installers). Yes, I
agree that this should be provided to all delegates. It just needs
volunteers to drive the development of the packaging and DVD building.
On OSGeo-Live, we do actually include as many windows installers as we
can fit onto a DVD. However, we are space constrained and hence are
fitting less and less each year.

Yes, it is marketing gold for all the applications we include on
osgeo-live also. One of the key reasons we have 80 odd developers
contributing to osgeo-live, and we have continuous support from 45
projects is that it is well known that this DVD is handed out at
geospatial conferences like FOSS4G and GeoFOSS.
I see OSGeo-Live as a powerful marketing service provided by OSGeo
volunteers to OSGeo projects.
Hence I strongly suggest that including the printing of a LiveDVD be a
requirement for inclusion in foss4g budgets. (This is only the cost of
printing, under the assumption that the OSGeo-Live team of volunteers
provide the much greater cost of development of an ISO).
