It may seem harsh, but I'm with Paul on this one. You're not being kicked out, but you are being asked to consider your role as a member of this committee.
There's been a lot of traffic on the conference list lately, and if you missed the discussions and vote around the LOIs, then perhaps you weren't paying attention. Reviewing the proposals is probably the most important role of this committee, and so active, engaged committee members are expected during this part of the year.
