The submission period for FOSS4G 2018 Letters of Intent closes at 2400 GMT on Monday 10th of October. I will post a mail to the list detailing all LoI’s that have been received.
It would be helpful if someone who has SVN access could upload the letters to the 2018 folder on SVN and then link to them from the wiki at https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2018_Bid_Process#Letter_of_Intent_Review <https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2018_Bid_Process#Letter_of_Intent_Review>
Questions on the LoI’s will be open until 16th October. Questions are open to all participants on this list and are not restricted to committee members. I suggest that we start a separate thread for each LoI with the subject: FOSS4G 2018 - Questions for xxxx, that will enable the LoI team to clearly identify questions and will help those voting at the end of the question period to review the complete thread for an LoI
Voting will be on 17th and 18th October by email to Thomas Bonfort who will be our CRO (Thomas will send out reminders nearer the time). Each committee member has one vote. All LoI’s that receive 2 or more votes will progress to the next stage of submitting a full proposal.
October 19th - voting results announced
If you wish to refer to it, the full RfP document is linked at https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2018_Bid_Process#RFP_Documents <https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_2018_Bid_Process#RFP_Documents>
I will be on vacation from 12th October until 7th November, I am not sure how good or frequent internet access will be. The LoI question and voting stage is pretty well established and it should run smoothly. Till Adams has kindly offered to stand in for me during this period in the event that a chair-like action or decision is needed.
My thanks to Thomas and Till
Looking forward to tough decisions on great LoI’s in the next week and a half
May the FOSS be with you
