Hi Maria - we do!
We called it the Good Mojo program:
https://foss4g-oceania.org/conference/good-mojo-program
Anyone interested can chip in any amount by going through the ticket page,
selecting ‘good mojo’ and putting in whatever amount you like:
http://tickets.foss4g-oceania.org
If it grows, we can add more. Here, donations are tracked separately - you
get an invoice (even if you add some money on top of a conference ticket).
I think Alex (in cc) can speak more about underlying bank account
structures if needed. I think the main point is ‘yes, we track what is Good
Mojo and what is not’.
The LOC TGP contribution comes from this program, along with money from the
general sponsorship funding pool. Again, Alex will know details about
proportions of funding, and how much Good Mojo program money comes from
direct contributions so far.
We also get funding for the program from a deal we make with sponsors - if
they opt out of having a stand/table at the conference, we assign some of
their sponsorship specifically to the program. This idea came from one of
the sponsors, and we figured sure - let’s make it the default position.
Cheers
Adam
