Dear Dennis,
Thanks for you and your team to offer hosting of the global FOSS4G!
To provide a little context with what Luca wrote: we would very much like
the global FOSS4G to target the August-October timeframe, while regional
conferences target an opposite period (~March-May). In this way we can
avoid direct competition between the two important type of regional/global
events.
With the current lack of such a direction, we've seen regional and global
conferences really bite each other because they were only weeks apart.
