Hi Cameron,
When you have your press release ready you can email it to:
news_item at osgeo.org and it will get put up as a news item on the  
OSGeo web site, as per:
https://www.osgeo.org/content/news/submit_news.html.  You can also  
ask that it go out on the "announce" mailing list.  This goes for  
anyone who has OSGeo-related newsworthy items.

If you want further promotion, you can hand your press release over  
to the Promotion and Visibility Committee, and we take it from there  
according to:  http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Press_Release_Process
