If I may,
I would caution as to a rapid release of the logo for anyone to use at their will. I understand the urgency behind getting it out there, but as was suggested in the contest requirements, it might be a good idea to wait until a logo manual is produces with provides guidelines and specifications on how the logo can and can't be used. I also agree with a TM for the logo as well.
As for the tag line, The Visibility committee will be discussing this during its next meeting. Personally, I think it's worth putting a few options up for voting.
Just my 2 cents.

I have edited this page with the complete submissions.

I am going to ask the promotion and visibility committee to look into the catch phrase. There was some talk about it during the contest and in IRC. I'm happy with "Your open source compass", but we should look into it a bit.
So, the logo is currently unofficial. We may need to SM or TM it. I don't have a big stick to stop you from using it.
