I spent some time with Guillaume looking at getting fgs working on OS
X. One problem was that some of the utilities that fgs relies on for
it's own operation are not part of the base operating system so
alternatives need to be found and supported. Also, since some of the
packages have problems building out of the box on OS X, it is more
work to support them within fgs. Fundamentally, there's no problem,
it's just going to require some effort.

In the interim, William Kyngesburye provides excellent, frequently
updated installers for many of these packages at http://
www.kyngchaos.com.
