  I had to do some digging too. Go to
http://www.opendmtp.org/, click the Downloads link at the
top of the page, then select the "protocol-spec" on the
SourceForge page.  Or just go to
http://internap.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/opendmtp/OpenDMTP_0.2.0.pdf
