[OSGeo-Discuss] Newbie Question? Any feature for classification?

Hi all. 
I'mnew to this mailing list. I want to write a program in .NET environmentand i need some classes to do feature classification.
I mean getting a point shape file, classifying it based on a Z value and convert it to raster.(some kind of Interpolation)

Anyone knows anything open source to do this?
