Dear Colleagues,
I am happy to announce Ordnance Survey Geospatial Mashup Challenge - GISRUK 2009. The purpose of this session is to provide opportunity to GISRUK participants to showcase their innovative case studies of using geospatial mashup technologies in various domains. This challenge is designed to bring together both novices and experts in the field, and to understand how geospatial mashups are applied across the GIS industry and in academic research.
This event provides a platform to present your innovative mashup applications to the wider GI community. Participants are also welcome to use OS OpenSpace in developing the mashup applications. OS OpenSpace allows users to build Web 2.0 applications using Ordnance Survey data.
Method of submission:
To participate in the OS Geospatial Mashup Challenge 2009 interested participants should email to Suchith.Anand at nottingham.ac.uk a short description of the mashup, including following information
# Title of the presentation
# Abstract of the mashup developed (max 500 words)
# Technical requirements
# Screenshots/url of the mashup application
# Short biography of the presenter
Deadline for submission: before 15 March 2009
Format of the session:
The selected participants will have 3 minutes each to present the mashup application developed to the audience and judges. There will be internet connection provided in the presentation room, to enable presenters to show live demos if they choose.
The best geospatial mashup application developed will be selected by a panel of 5 judges who will all be known experts in geospatial science.
The best mashup will be awarded an Ordnance Survey prize of £100 of Amazon vouchers.
