I might be interested in doing a short article on closed/open file
formats for geospatial data. This topic was recently debated on the
message board of my state land surveying association, and it is a topic
of interest to me.

As some of you know, OSGeo runs a monthly column in GeoConnexions
magazine about open source issues.  We've done 18 articles to date,
which have resulted in some good PR (and a bit of cash) for our
foundation.

If you are interested in submitting a future column, or even just ideas
for a column, please let me know!
