Hi,

Some of your friends (based in the Philippines) maybe interested. We
have a limited slot of 10 participants per session.

ESSC offers basic Geomatics Training Course
http://essc.org.ph/content/view/314/1/

==========
ESSC is offering a short introductory course for geomatics students,
practitioners, and developers using free and open source software
geospatial (FOSS-Geo) technologies. ESSC seeks to share its experience
and techniques in its geomatics work using various geospatial
technologies (both FOSS and proprietary software products).

FOSS technology is gaining popular usage due to the high costs of
proprietary geospatial products. This is also ESSC's contribution to
expanding the adoption of FOSS and democratizing the access of
software.

Each course is designed as an introduction to several FOSS-Geo
technologies and there are practical exercises for participants to
accomplish. By the end of each course, participants should be able to
install, navigate the basic interface of each application, and produce
map products in paper or digital format. The course will run for a day
for a minimum fee of PhP 1,500.00. The only requirement is a working
portable computer that can accommodate loading of the software
applications.

Please get in touch with Mr Maning Sambale at
emmanuelsambale at essc.org.ph or Ms Freida Tabuena at
freidatabuena at essc.org.ph for further information and scheduling.
