Coordinating proceedings for FOSS4G is different every year and each year we learn a little more.  I'd love to see someone be able to promise delivery by a certain date but negotiating with a publisher is far from simple as far I as understand.

The original journal lined up for publication would have yielded a publication of date of around April 2011, if I recall correctly, approx. 1.5 years after the event.  I also understand that many journals can easily take longer to publish.  The switch to using the OSGeo Journal was intended to make the publishing much quicker for authors.

As it is we are putting finishing touches on another issue of the Journal, then will start to work on these proceedings.  This issue of the journal will also have our first peer reviewed article (yes, it was slow too).

Thierry will be in touch with authors about the process and our team of volunteers and I will work on it.  Any help from others strong in Latex skills are welcome.

More communications to come directly to those who are authors.

Thank you for your concern,
