Sorry for the slow reply... I'm new to using GeoNetwork and have been trying to work out what's happening.

Anyhow, as suggested, I'll re-send my question to GeoNetwork users mailing list.

In addition, I gather that Geoportal Extensions use the CSW 2.0.1 (http://www.opengeospatial.org/resource/products/compliant).

By "unsuccessfully" I mean that after I "add" (refer original screen dump), select the OGC Web service to be harvested and then click "run" I get an error message (see attached to current email).

That being said, I've looked at your screenshot and it looks fine to me, assuming Geoportal Extensions uses the CSW 2.0.2 protocol.

When you say "unsuccessfully" what do you mean by that exactly ? Do you get any errors in GeoNetwork's output when running the harvester ? Do you see any indication of an error in the page listing all configured harvesters ?

Note: we are developing a GeoNetwork catalogue for datasets and other
resources in New Zealand. I am trying to configure our GeoNetwork node so
that our node is able to harvest metadata from other web-based catalogues -
both GeoNetwork based and others.
