it appears as if you've registered the homepage of the Geoportal. the CSW interface has its own endpoint. For example:
The open source Geoportal Server (http://esriurl.com/geoportalserver) implements CSW 2.0.2 and depending on what the implementer has configured supports the OGCCORE profile (always), ISO-Application Profile (most useful if the catalog only has ISO metadata), and the INSPIRE Discovery Service (sort of like ISO-AP but not entirely).
