Excellent and happy to see the excellent growth of our foundation . I humbly suggest that we should celebrate OSGeo Founding Day as the "Geo For All" day worldwide as it helped spread geospatial education opportunities for the whole world.

Happy birthday everyone.

Suchith

Subject: [OSGeo-Discuss] Happy birthday OSGeo!

Hi everyone,

Seven years ago today our wonderful foundation was born. It is good to look back and read the notes about that first important meeting in Chicago, and remember those that worked so hard to get it started (http://www.osgeo.org/content/news/news_archive/open_source_geospatial_foundation_initial_press_release.html.html).
The entire community now deserves a pat on the back for all these years of hard work.

Here are some interesting OSGeo stats pulled today:

- 195 mailing lists
- unique mailing list subscribers: 19160
- osgeo.org: 30487 unique visitors for month of January
- wiki.osgeo.org: 2720 pages, 12550 users, 17M views
- 1,350,000 google hits for "osgeo"

Happy birthday everyone!
