Talking about open source as a disruptive model:

a nice article about "how open source disrupted the CMS market:

disruptive business models

hey all,

I stumbled across the call for papers of the annual "geospatial world forum"
(GWF) congress. [1]

2016's theme is "Where's the money: disruptive business models".

Subthemes:

- Where's the Money? Disruptive Business Models of Geospatial Content

- Where's the Money? Business Opportunities of Location Intelligence

- Where's the Money? System Integration and Solutions Driving the Market

- Where's the Money? Software and Hardware Products: Trends and Direction

The congress is to be held in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), 23-26 May 2016

Deadline for submissions is 30 November (!). That's soon!

(in 2013 and 2014 the local Dutch Chapter organized an open source track
within the GWF congress.

mixed feeling about that, since it was a demanding organization to
co-operate with)

regards,

Gert-Jan
