Hi Patrick, all,

This is great to see the excellent response to Europa Challenge. Thanks to all the students and thier mentors over the years that make this program a success. These students will all greatly benefit from the experiences gained from participating in challenges like these and in the future will contribute greatly to the advancement of Geospatial Science globally.

To give a small example, two days back, i met one of the first students who did internship with me when i established Open Source Geospatial Lab at University of Nottingham . Heshan Du was that time (2010) doing her undergraduate degree here and i applied for a Nuffield funding for the internship . We got the funding from Nuffield and she went on to make us proud by winning Dean of Engineering Awards [1] and later was offered a fully funded PhD at Nottingham . She is now doing postdoctoral research at Leeds University and will in few months be taking up an academic post at our China campus. I am so happy and proud her achievements.

So for all the mentors of these projects, i am sure these students will make you proud in the future .

Best wishes,

Suchith

Howdy from NASA!

Pretty impressive suite of projects so far for this year's Europa Challenge.

Hope you can join up! It's not too late!
Climax in Trento with an expense-paid week for top 5 finalist teams (excluding travel).
And you don't have to be there to win the NASA Crystal Bull (and some cash).

And to give you a head start, here is a 'reference app' we provide.
You are free to use for building your own application.
