‘Twould be fun to have a “You are here!” arrow pointing at some spot in the OSM city view.

Then on the back of the shirt could be picture of the Earth
^or^
the Milky Way with another “You are here” arrow, i.e. . .

That looks great, would need to be lighter so that text and graphics can go over too.

And yeah I was trying to go away from topo, which is not always very accessible. Linework features, streets, featured etc...

Sort of like the OSM based T-shirts:

I like the idea, but perhaps it makes things a little too complex?
A contour line map of The Netherlands as a biz card background would not be very exciting ;-)

Okay I have an idea that I may regret sharing - because I am not enough of a cartographer to make it happen.

What if we went for a line work map (no fills or very saturated fills) and people could zoom into an appropriate area for their biz card or presentation subject matter? We would need a consistent palette to go well with the logo and general branding - but I love the metaphor of every member, local chapter, event having their own location driven background.

But the green on the name cards etc ... its too much green, maybe more transparent. I am not saying to have it multicolour because printing becomes expensive with more colors.
The white www.osgeo.org<http://www.osgeo.org> is behind the black lines, its so wierd.

About topography, I agree with Jody.
I would prefere as background a stylized map of the galaxy or the universe.
In any case, thanks a lot!

My feedback:

- The topo background graphic proposed is a strong visual, but comes across as vintage / retro / dated to my eyes (steampunk!). It does evolve from our current branding (see slide 2 here<https://www.slideshare.net/DirkFrigne/osgeo-think-global-act-local?qid=22fda894-eda8-4161-acca-1be6d1a323ce&v=&b=&from_search=8>), but I am not sure it reflects modern mapping technologies. Wonder if we could go for a blueprint vector+note visualization of the data behind mapping....

- Tempted to use the current light-green as one of the colors for logo3, because many<https://osgeo.nl> local chapters<http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Aust-NZ> have taken the color rather than the visual elements as a base, others look amazing<http://www.gfoss.it> doing there own thing.

Hi All,

We can share the initial cut of the branding process. It is available

Feel free to comment here or on the marketing list. We will go through
a few sets of revisions with the vendor.
