I would like to nominate Matthew Hanson as a charter member of OSGeo.

Matt has been contributing to open source geospatial projects for
several years, starting with GeoNode and Gippy, and now is the primary
maintainer of Development Seed's open source collection of tools
called sat-utils and one of the main developers for Cumulus, the NASA
cloud-based data distribution framework.  He has also started other
open source projects for performing coastline extraction. He gives
talks regularly at open source conferences including the last 5 FOSS4G
events as well as several local FOSS4Gs.
