Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial North America 2018 (Academic Track)

FOSS4G-North America (FOSS4G-NA) organizes an academic track that will run with the regular FOSS4G-NA tracks. FOSS4G-NA invites original research contributions on all aspects of open-source or open standard-based geospatial software and its application. Submissions focusing on emerging geospatial research topics, such as big data, linked data, UAVs, the Internet of Things, and solving real-world problems are particularly encouraged. All types of papers are welcome, such as on results achieved, case studies, work in progress, and demos.

Submission Guidelines

Authors can submit contributions by choosing one of the following options:

  *   Long abstracts (up to 2 pages)
  *   Demos and Work-in-Progress long abstracts (up to 2 pages)

Submissions must be written in English and follow to the template available in ODT<http://bit.ly/2kNpvVF> and DOC<http://bit.ly/2BLijnu> format. The papers must be submitted in the same ODT or DOC format (no PDF) to allow the proper formatting of the volume.

Program Committee will select papers based on their merits in scientific novelty, relation to the state of the art, presentation of the paper and overall quality. Authors will receive feedback and suggestions for improvement to their paper before submission of the final camera-ready version of the paper.

The deadline to submit abstracts is February 8, 2018.
