The recordings of The Future of Food symposium 2019 is available at http://www.fao.org/about/meetings/future-of-food/livestream/en/
Malnutrition in all its forms continues to be one of the greatest challenges faced by our generation. While undernutrition persists in some countries, we are witnessing an unprecedented rise in obesity and diet-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in low and middle income countries. There is a global call to transform our current food systems to provide the healthy diets needed for optimal health and wellbeing, address issues of inequality and inequity and put a halt to the degradation of natural resources.
I think Geospatial science [1] will also play a key role in helping our understanding for this and explore pathways to a sustainable future of food and healthy diets for all.
I am grateful all colleagues who came together to discuss these questions. I thank FAO and symposium organisers for making all the presentation recordings available for the benefit of everyone.
Best wishes,
Suchith
