In 2018, The University of Melbourne, home to Australia’s first Open Source Geospatial Laboratory [1]  hosted FOSS4G SotM Oceania [2].  FOSS4G SotM Oceania 2019 will help further expand geoeducation and digital economy opportunities to the region.
