[OSGeo-Discuss] [SAC] www.osgeo.org moved to osgeo7 server

Sorry I had forgotten to send this to discuss.

FYI that www.osgeo.org <http://www.osgeo.org> has moved to our own servers and we made some recent adjustments that should hopefully clear up the speed issues people were complaining about.

The main change was disabling libavatar replace plugin which was causing a bulk of the slowness.

Please checkout to make sure all works for you.

Thanks,

Regina

Thanks! I hope this will help with performance issues :)

You may wish to also send to discuss as many folks have access (for local chapters, geoforall labs, news announcements and events).

We had planned sometime to move www.osgeo.org <http://www.osgeo.org> back to our own servers once we had enough server resources.

Before we were using a VM provided by OSUOSL.

I moved www.osgeo.org <http://www.osgeo.org> to osgeo7 about 20-30 minutes ago. Please refrain from making any changes for the next 24 hours to allow DNS change to propagate.

If you run into issues, please let me know.

I’m hoping that this resolves some of our speed issues we’ve had for the past 2 months.

If you run into any issues, please post a ticket at https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/newticket

Thanks,

Regina
