Dear All,

The student application period for GSoC 2020 begins today i.e. March 16,
2020 18:00 UTC. The application deadline is March 31 18:00 UTC. Please
refer [1] for timeline.

*@Prospective Students:*
It is a high time to refer to OSGeo Ideas page [2] and student
recommendations, particularly application instructions [3]. It is
recommended to start preparing your draft of the proposal and share it on
the OSGeo discuss and OSGeo SoC mailing list at the earliest to receive
feedback and comments. Remember to provide proper sharing access to the
document so that comments could be added to the proposal.
Please don't wait till the last moment as it becomes very difficult to
provide feedback for all proposals during the last period. The final
proposal needs to be submitted from the GSoC Dashboard.

*@Mentors:*
There is still time to subscribe as a co-mentor. It is must to have at
least 2 mentors for every project idea otherwise the proposal will be
discarded irrespective of the quality of the proposal (Due to COVID-19
outbreak, it is also possible to have 3 mentors for projects so that one of
the mentors is always available for the discussions). Please remember that
the GSoC mentors must be of age 18 years or more following the new change
introduced in GSoC 2020 program. If you have not signed for becoming a
mentor or have not received the invitation yet then please fill in the form
[4].

Looking forward to a great time ahead.

*Please forward this email to your project communities*.

Kind regards,
Your OSGeo GSoC Admins
