After the last finalization from Prague's Technical University partners, we
are opening the registrations to attend the 2-day training sessions and
2-day conference talks at the OpenDataScience Europe Workshop 2022 in
Prague. Also, meet the keynote speakers and discover how to submit your
abstract to be selected as a speaker!

*CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - UPCOMING DEADLINE: APRIL 1ST*
Do not forget to submit your abstract by* the 1st of April via Pretalx *to
have the chance to present at the workshop, discuss your work and
network! Remember
that submitting and presenting your work at ODSE workshop 2022 is free of
charge!

The workshop follows the main topics of the project:

   1. Dynamic mapping of land cover, vegetation, climate and environmental
   quality indices
   2. Spatiotemporal Machine Learning using Ensemble techniques,
   3. Earth Data Cubes: spatiotemporal overlay, modelling and visualization
   4. Geocomputing and geo-harmonization using Python, R and Open Source
   GIS GDAL, GRASS GIS, QGIS
   5. Processing large raster datasets using High Performance and
   Distributed Computing
   6. Using geospatial harmonized European map products
   7. Using AR/VR for geospatial data visualisation

researchers Josip Križan and Luka Antonić, in collaboration with
OpenGeoHub, just released the *seasonal composites of Sentinel-2 L2A
imagery* as part of the Geo-harmonizer project. Mosaics contain medians of
the blue, green, red, NIR, SWIR1 and SWIR2 bands (see complete list
<https://opengeohub.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3be514c4ed02897886a18aecc&id=54203de529&e=bcad9e1e71>),
as well as pixel counts per season, produced in the ETRS89-extended / LAEA
Europe (EPSG:3035) spatial reference system. This work was produces were
produced from winter 2017 to spring 2020, with the imaging intervals per
season being:

   - winter: 02/12 of the previous year to 20/03
   - spring: 21/03 to 24/06
   - summer: 25/06 to 12/09
   - fall: 13/09 to 01/12

The seamlessness of the composites was achieved through overlapping pixel
averaging weighted by distance from the suborbital track.

After more than 3 years, the development team has announced a *new stable
release of GRASS GIS 8.0! *Efforts have concentrated on making the user
experience even better, providing many new useful additional
functionalities, with particular attention on the new graphical user
interface: find out about the entirely *rewritten startup sequence!* This
re-establishes user experience compatibility with QGIS and other connected
software packages.
