We are very happy to share the great news that the 2024 Free and Open
Source Software for Geospatial Conference (FOSS4G) has been awarded to
Belém (Brazil).
FOSS4G (https://foss4g.org/) is the annual event organized by the Open
Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) since 2006 and one of the largest
global meetings on geospatial software of the year.
In 2024 FOSS4G will take place at the beginning of December in Belém
(Brazil).
After the announcement of the voting result of FOSS4G 2024 the local
team announced the following message:

It is with great joy and enthusiasm that we receive the news of the
acceptance of the FOSS4G application in Brazil! On behalf of the entire
local team, we would like to express our deep gratitude for the
recognition and the opportunity to host this prestigious event.
This achievement is the result of a collaborative effort, months of
dedication, and careful planning. Knowing that our efforts have been
acknowledged and that we will have the honor of welcoming the FOSS4G
community is a reason for celebration for all of us.
The local team is overflowing with happiness and commitment to ensure

Brazilians experienced in OSGeo (Open Source Geospatial Foundation)
technologies, along with the Geoinquietos Argentina team, all working
together to make this event even more incredible!
