The Landscape Geoinformatics Lab of the Department of Geography at
University of Tartu [1] in cooperation with the Estonian Geoinformatics
Society (ESTGIS) [2] is excited to be organizing the FOSS4G Europe (Free
and Open Source Software for Geospatial Europe) conference on 1-7 July
2024 in Tartu, Estonia.

The FOSS4GE conference is the European branch event of the Open Source
Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) annual conference. It is the FOSS4G
European community’s highlight event that brings together developers and
users of open source geoinformatics software, professionals and policy
makers, entrepreneurs and investors, the academic community and students.

The conference program lasts a total of 7 days. Workshops will be held
on 1-2 July to introduce software, learn new tricks in spatial analysis,
and introduce new spatial data technologies. On 3-5 July, there will be
conference presentation days, which include both general and academic
track presentations. In the last days of the event, a community sprint
will be held, during which open source GIS software will be jointly
developed/improved. Birds-of-a-feather (BoF) sessions,
business-to-business (B2B) meeting, and other social and networking
events are also taking place.

The call for papers (workshops, presentations for general and academic
track) will be opened on 27 November 2023. We welcome novel and original
submissions on development, use, and advocacy for FOSS4G - from software
updates to practical examples, community building, and business
strategies. Whether you're an experienced FOSS4Ger or a first-time
presenter, your input is valuable. The FOSS4G community thrives on
shared experiences and knowledge.

The FOSS4G conference is a great opportunity to meet and network with
developers and fellow users of QGIS, GeoServer, GRASS GIS, GDAL, etc.
and other top geodata specialists and entrepreneurs.

If you want to contribute to the event as a volunteer, please let us
know by filling this [3] form.

We are expecting 250-300 participants from all over Europe and elsewhere
to attend the conference. The working language of the conference is English.
