Dear OSGeo Directors, dear OSGeo members,
I wish to congratulate you with the newly refreshed board, welcoming new Directors and thankfully recognise past Director contribution.

I just attended FOSS4G-ASIA, exactly 20 years after the FOSS4G was created.
Things has changed since then... innovative (at that time) Open approach become the de-facto standard in software development and geospatial technologies became easy to use and widely adopted in all the disciplines.

In this context, I would like to ask our Board of Directors as elected community leaders to shape their vision for OSGeo in the next 5 years.

Apart from guaranteeing the daily business to allow the foundation to operate:
- What are the goals and objectives of OSGeo which make it relevant at global scale?
- Which challenges are we facing or expecting as a community and what are the actions to be taken?
- Which contribution can we, as a community, bring to the society to support global challenges?
- What is the work plan and instruments we may adopt?

Sorry for this long mail, but I feel that our leaders should guide us through a retrospective (what we did) and a perspective (what shall we do) to make our community flourish.

MAY THE FOSS BE WITH YOU ! ❤️

Maxi

Dear all,

The board elections are over - you can check the full results at:
https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Board_Election_2024_Results

All board members who were at the end of their 2-year term stood for
reelection. Of those, Angelos, Tom and Michael were reelected. Ariel did not
get enough votes, and will be replaced by Joana.

The full board composition can be found at https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/
Board_of_Directors#OSGeo_Foundation_Board_of_Directors , and will be updated
shortly.

Best,
