I noticed when nominating folks that one of the requirements was to create
an osgeo advocate <https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/OSGeo_Advocate> page?

Charter member candidates are asked to
>
* Add an OSGeo Advocate profile to our wiki page [4]
>
* Create a profile page in the OSGeo Wiki [5] with the 'Advocate link'
> pointing to your profile
>
before confirming the nomination acceptance.
>
...

I think this information is duplicated by member page
<http://osgeo.org/member/jody-garnett/>...

My understanding is the advocate role was coined by Cameron when OSGeo to
ease the burden of president travel (especially when operating with no
funds). Since that time we have set up vice-presidents in order to reduce
the burden.

Q: Is the advocate page still useful? I only ask because it implies that
any nominated person would be available to handle some public speaking
responsibility (which is a much bigger ask then voting for board
elections).
